Richard J. Levin
Rick has been practicing law in Boston since 1975. After serving as an Assistant District Attorney for Middlesex County, Cambridge, Massachusetts, Rick joined the law firm of Fine & Ambrogne as an associate, where his focus was on bank and real estate litigation and bankruptcy matters. In 1981, he formed his own firm, Levin & Berk, which merged in 1987 with a mid-sized Boston firm, Looney & Grossman. For nine years, Rick was a senior partner at Looney & Grossman, until founding Heller, Levin & Seksay, PC in 1995. Between 2001 and 2021, he joined with Marc Cumsky, a colleague from his Fine & Ambrogne days at Cumsky & Levin practices.
Rick is a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce (University of Pennsylvania) with a B.S. in Economics (1972) and was awarded a J.D. from Boston University School of Law (1975). Rick is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar (1975) as well as to the bars of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Massachusetts, the First Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He is the co-author of “Commercial Lending in Massachusetts”, National Business Institute, 2002 and the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Book Award, Corporations.
Rick is married to Arlene Levin, a Vice President of Eastern Research Group of Lexington, Massachusetts, and they have two children. He is a past president of Jewish Vocational Services and is on the Board of Directors of 2Life Communities.
While Rick has been lead counsel in approximately fifty trials, during the last twenty years or so, he has concentrated his practice in the areas of commercial real estate and leasing, and as an outside counsel to closely held businesses and investors.
